Let's Get Fired Up!!

Cassie, a friend of my daughter's who I have become friends with also, invited me to come along and paint pottery. I'd never done it before and not sure if I'll ever do it again, but I sure had fun!

The selection was almost overwhelming to me. I had no idea where to start. I needed something easy, that much I knew.

So many choices! And colors!!!

I took a peek at some finished products to get ideas.

This is our workspace before we got started... all clean and nice!

Then.... it changed! We got to work!

I picked my colors.

I found a cup I liked.

And I decided to paint hearts. I mean, how hard can hearts be??? I've been painting hearts since before kindergarden!

When I finish my coffee, I figured a little heart would be... you know... heartwarming!!

I need to perfect my writing, but I'll live with this.

All glazed and fired.

A daily morning reminder of how to live my life.

Mmmmmmmmmmmm.....

Thanks, Cassie!! xoxo

I'm so glad you were able to come with us Lois! And glad that you had a good time. :-)

By the way, thanks for not posting pictures of all of us grubby and paint covered! LOL

I know how I hate pictures of my own bad self posted all over the internet, so I wouldn't do that to ya! I had a great time! And I love my cup!

Nice! I've never been to a paint your own pottery place before, but it looks like fun!
It would be a fun place for a girl's birthday party, I bet, too.

While we were sitting there an entire Brownie troop came in. Then whole back room was full of little girls and their parents painting away.

Rix, I'm thinking Methos and Diet Coke for Thanksgiving... have you tried that yet???

My daughter took a bunch of us - bridesmaids, visitors, etc. - to do this just before her wedding. We had a blast, just like I imagine a quilting bee would be in the 'old day's'! I know she still has her spoon holder on her stove, but for the life of me I can't think what I made. It was ten yeasr ago, so I guess I can be forgiven! Love your cup!

Love the mug! great job :-)

That does look like fun, although I cannot paint anything that isn't a single color rolled onto a wall. Did you get to bring your mug home the same day or does it take a few days for them to glaze and fire it?

Kobico, I had to wait a week to pick up my project. It's fun to go back and see how everyone else's turned out too!

I have always wanted to go to Fired Up, but haven't gotten a chance yet. Looks like fun... the quirky hearts are nice.

Beautiful! I love your mug and all it stands for. I tried this once and my end product looked like something a three year-old might produce after eating a five pound bag of sugar. Yours is MUCH better!

I have ALWAYS wanted to go to a hand painting pottery place and try my unsteady hand!! (even if they did mock them on Sex In The City)
;)

I remember doing that a few years ago. I'm so not an artist, however.
